New Starrily Creme Polishes!

Starrily is an independent nail polish brand that I fell in love with a few years ago when I ordered their one coat black, Vantablack. Ever since then, I've been obsessed. They specialize in stunning holographic and sparkly polishes, everything you'd expect from a brand with the name "Starrily". Their magnetic polishes can be used as easy one step galaxy nail art, their creams are super buttery and self leveling, and every polish that has holographic pigments is so saturated and shiny that the Holo sparkles even when not in direct sunlight. Needless to say, they are one of my all time favorite brands and I'm so happy to swatch for you their new release! In this collection, we have seven stunning cream polishes, as well as two new shimmer toppers and a limited edition holographic magnetic polish! So sit back, relax and enjoy the swatch-a-thon!

  1. Cloudscape

Cloudscape is the first shade in this collection that I swatched (I went in alphabetical order of the shade names). It's a stunning sky-blue shade that leans a little more periwinkle. The pale "blurple" color is perfect for any season, although I don't typically wear polishes seasonally. But if you like to wear your shades during the matching seasons, this one will for sure impress you with it's versatility. I can't wait to use this as a background for nail art and to gradient it with other blue/purple shades.

2. Empress

Up next is the shade Empress. It's a gorgeous, deep navy blue with hints of teal undertones. I got perfect coverage of this shade in 2 coats. This shade is great for those of you who want a deep vampy color but don't want to wear a black polish.

3. Forest of the Night

Forest of the Night is a deep, earthy green that reminds me of a walk through a pine forest. It's also one of those colors that can be substituted for black in the case where you don't want to use a black polish.

4. Gaia

Gaia was the fourth shade I tried and I instantly fell in love. I'm obsessed with green polishes as green is one of my favorite colors, and I don't yet have a green like this. It's like fresh budding leaves in early spring. Or of fresh cut grass. What does it remind you of?

5. Queen Bee

Oh, I love a good yellow polish! Especially neutral yellows that are opaque in TWO COATS! Yes, you read that right, Queen Bee is a yellow polish completely opaque in two coats! I was so happy to see this yellow in the collection; it's not quite mustard yellow, it's definitely brighter, like dandelions. I feel like the undertones of this yellow would complement most, if not all, skin tones.

6. Serenity

Serenity is my favorite out if the whole release! It reminds me of lilacs! I can't wait to wear this as a full manicure by itself or plan some floral nail art with it! (Be sure to check my Instagram account @nailtimewithlex to see some nail art I just posted with Serenity!)

7. Terracotta

Last in the new creams selection is Terracotta! This orange shade is aptly named, as it definitely resembles terracotta pottery! I love orange nails and I can't wait to use this muted orange for some summer and fall nail art!

8. Sparkler

First up in the shimmer toppers duo is Sparkler! Over black (or other dark shades) is where polishes like this truly shine, as shown in the photo below. Sparkler shifts from a vibrant copper shimmer into golden shimmer around the edges.

9. Zephirine

Zephirine is the second topper released. It's also best used over dark shades to really bring out the shimmer and shifty effects. Over white or paler colors is just as beautiful but it's definitely more subtle. This shade shifts from a pinky red into copper and gold, and I even caught hints of green around the edges.

10. Holo Apparition

Last, but certainly not least, in the release is Holo Apparition. This polish blew me away when I put it on, I could believe how stunning it was. With it being a magnetic polish, there are a few ways you can apply it. In the photo below, I did one thin coat without the magnet for coverage. Once that was dried, I did a second thicker coat and held the magnet at an angle over my nail for 30 seconds (or until the polish gets tacky and starts to dry). I always seal my manicures with a top coat, and when I use magnetic polish I hover the magnet over the top coat. Another popular way to use magnetic polishes is to put them over a black base. If I use this shade over black, I would just do one thicker coat over the black and hover my magnet over for 30 seconds. This method is great if you don't want to run out of your polish too fast, or if you want an effortless galaxy manicure! Holo Apparition is a greyish blue base shade with tons of micro holographic sparkles throughout. Seriously, one of my favorite shades. I can't get enough of it.

Out of all these gorgeous polishes released, which was your favorite? I love them all so much and I already know a few of them that will be featured in my "cruelty free dupes for non-cruelty free polishes" series. Let me know which shades you plan to buy or have already bought! Tag me in your nail art as well! I love seeing everyone's beautiful manicures!

Happy nail painting! Xoxo, Lex
